Chesapeake City, Virginia
Chesapeake is an independent city in the State of Virginia. It is located in the Southeastern region of Virginia called Hampton Roads. It is one of the larger cities in Virginia in terms of land and the third largest in population. Chesapeake is conveniently located within twenty minutes of the oceanfront and only forty minutes of Colonial Williamsburg.
It has scenic parks including the 107,000-acre Great Dismal Swamp National Wild Life Refuge. The Dismal Swamp was surveyed by George Washington and is known as “Washington’s Ditch.” Other popular spots include the Virginia Civil War Trails, the Chesapeake Arboretum and the Northwest River Park, which offers boating, fishing and hiking. In addition, the city has golf courses, history, and waterways for fun and relaxation. Also located in the city are two major shopping malls.
Money Magazine recognized the City of Chesapeake as one of the best cities in America and the FBI has recognized Chesapeake as one of the safest cities of its size in country.
